In the heart of Sicily, at the edge of the Madonie Mountains is the medieval town of Petralia Sottana. Every August is held the annual Ballo Della Cordella or “Dance of the Strings.” The festival historically celebrates the harvest of wheat each year. This past August I was lucky enough to be in Petralia Sottana for the festival. I was even luckier to have family in Petralia Sottana and around Sicily. It was hard not to enjoy being with family, eating the always delicious italian food, and enjoying a Sicilian summer (even if it was a little too hot). Check out the video below to see more about the picturesque village of Petralia Sottana and the Ballo Della Cordella.
